StrongMail Systems’ Darren Hoch to Speak at LinuxWorld Conference & Expo
Redwood City, Calif., June 26, 2007 – StrongMail Systems, the innovation leader in email infrastructure software, and IDG World Expo, the leading producer of world-class tradeshows and events around the globe, have announced that Darren Hoch, Services Architect for StrongMail Systems, will be speaking at the upcoming LinuxWorld Conference & Expo, scheduled to take place August 6-9, 2007 at Moscone Center in San Francisco.
The theme for this year’s event is “Open Source is Everywhere,” and in addition to sessions that demonstrate the widespread acceptance of Linux and open source, the conference will feature in-depth technology training in Tutorials and Hands-On Labs. Hoch’s session, “ Linux Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting” will be held Monday, August 6, from 9 am to 12 pm.
The Linux Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting Course teaches systems administrators practical methodologies for monitoring systems using standard system tools. The course breaks performance into 4 functional components: CPU, Memory, I/O, and Network. After each component lecture, students will have a lab exercise in which they apply skills acquired by interpreting a set of outputs and answering questions based on those outputs.
Darren Hoch has been teaching and consulting on Linux/Solaris in government, academic and corporate settings since 1999. He currently serves as Services Architect for StrongMail Systems. His primary role at StrongMail is to build products and service offerings based off the Linux platform.
“LinuxWorld is proud of its heritage as a source of deep technical training taught by the experts in the field ,“ said Melinda Kendall, VP and General Manager, LinuxWorld Conference & Expo. ” The Tutorials and Hands-On Labs, held on Monday, are a fantastic resource for IT professionals looking to expand their knowledge and enhance their careers. ”
