StrongMail Implements DomainKeys Identified Mail

Continues Leadership Role in Combating Email Forgery and Phishing

REDWOOD SHORES, CA. - September 6, 2005 - StrongMail Systems, the innovation leader in digital messaging infrastructure, today announced that it has integrated the DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) authentication proposal with its industry-leading email infrastructure platform. StrongMail Systems is one of the very first implementers of this proposal, which has been designed to provide businesses and consumers with a stronger, more accurate means for identifying legitimate email messages.

StrongMail Systems was an active participant in developing the proposal which was submitted to the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) for consideration as a new email industry standard by Cisco, PGP Corporation, Sendmail and Yahoo!. Other companies that played a prominent role in the development of the proposal include Alt-N Technologies, AOL, Brandenburg Internetworking, Cisco, EarthLink, IBM, Microsoft, Tumbleweed, and VeriSign. DKIM is a signature-based email authentication proposal which is based on Yahoo!'s DomainKeys email authentication technology and Cisco's Identified Internet Mail. It provides email users protection against email forgery and related phishing attacks by verifying the domain of the sender. DKIM was developed so that businesses and consumers will have a stronger, more accurate means for identifying email messages. While the proposal is under review, StrongMail customers can begin to reap the benefits of the enhanced protection offered by DKIM.

"StrongMail is committed to curbing abusive and fraudulent email practices and securing use of the medium for legitimate communication and commerce," said Frank Addante, founder of StrongMail Systems. "We are excited to be one of the first implementers of the DKIM proposal which is result of the ongoing commitment from numerous industry players to develop an open-standard email authentication specification."
